Why Verity National
A small supply business in York that posts archival boxes, sleeves, tissue, albums and wallets to people sorting their own family papers.
Verity National began from a plain observation: the right materials for keeping old papers are not hard to make, but they are hard for an ordinary household to buy. They tend to be sold in trade quantities, described in jargon, or mixed in with goods nobody at home needs. We keep a short range, sell it in sensible packs and say exactly what each thing is.

About the name
People sometimes read National as if it meant a bank, a public body or a large institution. It means none of those things. It means only that we post to the whole of the United Kingdom — England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the islands — from one packing bench in York. Verity is simply a word for truthfulness, which is what we aim for in how each item is described.
How an order runs
- You choose items on the order page, add your delivery address and anything we should know about the papers in the message box.
- We read every order by hand. If something you chose will not fit what you describe — prints too large for a sleeve, papers too long for an A4 box — we tell you before anything is charged.
- An e-mail from [email protected] gives the final figure with postage and a link for paying securely; no money leaves your account before you use it.
- Your parcel is packed flat in York and goes out inside two working days of payment, its tracking reference sent on by e-mail.
Within our remit, and outside it
Verity National will sell you storage materials, describe them honestly, answer questions about which size or which kind to choose, and post them anywhere in the UK. We will tell you when something on our list is not the right answer.
We will not take in your originals for any reason. These four things are outside what Verity National does:
- No scanning or digitising service
- No valuation of papers or photographs
- No family-history research
- No treatment of damaged items
For torn, mouldy or stuck items, a trained conservator is the right person; for family history, your county record office is a good first stop.
